WHAT IS LIFE?

LIFE-A beautiful word with a seaful of meanings, often undecipherable.
enjoy your life guys!!!!!!

With its wide variety of shades, it’s very difficult to actually define this four-lettered word. I myself have spent my entire life till now(as I’m not dead)thinking of my personal derivatives of its meaning, and as the progress suggests, I will have to keep on deliberating on the same.

But, talking about the progress, I would like to tell you about some meanings, even though I know that my little article cannot occupy them all.

For some, there is a simple yet beautiful life with its blues and grays all consumed and decayed under the pressurizing monotony of isolation and solitariness. That is the life of an old couple, who, retired from work with full complacency and gratification, are savoring in the simplicity and vagueness of their lives.

For others, it’s the torturing, painful and discontented life. The lover, the beggar, the hawker, the sweeper. There’s a long list of such kind of livers with their distressed and tormented lives.

For me and people like me, there,s the colourful life all around. It’s in the trees, with their dancing leaving. It’s in the birds, soaring high up in the sky. It’s even in the villages, where the maidens work, among the melodies of the nightingales songs.

I’m sure everyone of you must be having a beautiful memory of that two-minute joy in the rain, all drenched up and dancing like mad. That is what I call life. Vividly impressioned with vibrant colours, life is having a little walk in the sun with friends, chatting and laughing and wiping away all your tensions in the echo of that laughter.

Well, that’s the life everyone wants and that’s the life everyone gets when they actually desire for it and go after it. Just sitting by some roadside drain and crying in self-pity will bring you no good. Get up, go out on an endless road to an unknown destination, watch the world as it colours around you and changes a dark eclipsed night into an inspiring pacifying morning.

For we all know that:-
“LIFE IS A JOURNEY, NOT A DESTINATION”

So for all the fools who are waiting to reach a desired ‘dead-end’, here’s a message:-
Do what you want to.It's your LIFE- Love it. Live it. Cherish it.

And please do appreciate my article and give a new turn to a new and fruitful life. As usual, don't forget to comment!!!!!

A DREAM WORLD

Hey guys!!!!......so I tried my hand in writing poems....and came out with this...it's not that I've never written any poem...but this one is just something entirely new for me.I remember that when I was a kid, poem for me was all about rhyming words, and I presented my teachers with completely silly and funny poems, which would give them a hearty laugh. But I can assure you that there is nothing funny about this one,it's something that I dream of quite often.IT'S SOMETHING EVERY GIRL DREAMS OF.So here's my poem!!!!!!

WHERE THE WORLD ENDS

And then we go…..loud and happy
To the end of the world
With our hands joined together
And our hearts linked with love

We tend to go to the other side
Where we will find bright skies
Light silhouetted in the widespread blue
A beautiful,beautiful sight

With eternal shining sun
Hiding behind the clouds
And the vaguely sighted moon
With Its incandescent soothing light

There will be green grasses
With bushes of magic roses
And sweet grape vines
Winding in a maidens gown
Growing high above the porches

Of the beautiful towering castles
With their golden bed chambers
In which princesses as fair as the snow
And as pure as the heaven
Smile in their dreams

And we will be those princesses
And live far away from our own world
Far away from its malice and cruelty
That is targeted towards those tender hearts
Who are the source of their origin
Who are the creator of the mankind
And who are the goddesses of love and war

We will go away from all that chaos
and to the beautiful sands
of the magical land that lies
beyond the worlds end.

A NEW BIRTH OF POWER

Hi there!......this is your friend….the admin.Yeah…I know…you all must me really disappointed because of my sudden disappearance,so heartfelt sorry to all my dear friends. I was in a pretty rough shape, but as I have returned with a new spark,I’m going to start my blog afresh again ,with a simple but unsually life-changing story, inspired by a real life incident.

GIRL POWER

I was an eyewitness to this incident, which shook me to the core, but which taught me a very unusual thing.I am not just narrating a story, but I'm actually trying to give you with some piece of moral values and ideals, which you will discover when you read this with sincere hearts and go to it's depth.

There was a girl,a little flower who knew only about the vibrant colours of the world, and was never told or met by the darkness overshadowing all the good things.

She could see all through it,and loved the world for it's beauty, both of the shape and the soul.Love was what she thought of,and love was what she saw and felt.In this story,I'm going to refer to her as ISHTAR, the babylonian goddess of love and war,for it is the best name I could come up with,as you will see further in the "story".

Ishtar enjoyed her life to the fullest and was among the children who had decided to remain in their childhood forever. But she did not know what was destined for her,and that the doom lay straight ahead. She was completely oblivious of her near future, which was soon going to change her into a big and powerful woman,an epitome of sufferings and strength.

It was a great time, when people did not have to protect their girls from strolling out into those beautiful lawns,or loitering over big fancy things in the bazaars.Ishtar must be of eleven years or so at that time, and was full of her childhood gaity and laughter, for in those days, kids only got their matured senses in the ages of 17-18 yrs. They weren't told about things that were not bound for them, and were never taught anything about protection, for they had their mom and dad to protect them. There were not vicious animals with greedy mouths, but gallantry gentlemen who respected ladies as fragile little loving creatures. But the times were changing, and unfortunate lives were about to befell upon them. Those were the times that marked the beginning of the 'vulnerable women's era'.Who could know, that those sweet great gentlemen would become ravaneous demons Ishtar was to become one of the first girls to be a victim of this inbuilt poison.

It was a pleasant evening in the month of June, and the sun was setting, with the hints of orange and red still hovering in the sky.Ishtar had gone to her aunt's house, and was having a little walk with her little cousin and her brother in the nearby park,by the marketplace. She had not intended to go there, but on the continuous pleads of her dear little cousin brother, she agreed to the proposal. She was wearing her favourite olive green-colored jeans, with a nice embroidered black top.She had tied her hair in a loose ponytail,as her mommy had told her,and was feeling very tired. It was the first time that she had come to stay with her aunt and uncle, and was enjoying herself a lot.
She and her sister(her cousin) had taken their little whining brother to the swings, and were playing there while watching over the naughty kid, acting like big sisters.Just then a group of rusty and wild looking guys came towards them. They were all dressed in shabby and torn rags, and were looking like wild beasts. They came near the girls and started to pass abusive remarks.

Ishtar, being a child ,didn't know what to do.But ,acting like a brave girl, she tucked both of her little cousins behind her and started to move away from the boys. But they seemed to be determined to molest the little ladies, and so,they followed them. They were quite closer to the kids by the time they had reached the far end of the swings, and seeing a "favourable chance",one of the guys tried to touch Ishtar on her private parts. The little girl didn't know how to react ,for she didn't know what that act of the guy meant,so,completely overtaken with fear, she called a nearby woman to help them. The woman, being a good natured mother of a 2-year old child, seemed to fully understand there situation, for she immediately went towards those rusty guys and started shouting on them.

The guys, completely taken aback by the lady's shouting, stood still and listened to her with malicious expressions, having no sign of guilt on there faces, meanwhile,Ishtar and her little cousins fled from the scene, the last act of there bravery being a slap on one of the guy's face by her cousin, who seemed to be calling after Ishtar with a very vulgar syllable. They ran all the way to their aunt's house, their hearts pounding with fear of being chased by those evil shadows.

When they finally reached the house,Ishtar simply went over to her bed and sat there, dumbfounded and struck by the realization of a horrific truth. She finally broke into a fountain of tears as soon as her aunt and uncle came, summoned by her little cousin sister.Ishtar, the little molested girl was being interrogated about the location and the faces of the boys,so that the guys could be caught by the uncle. All the answers were given by her sister, for she was so torn that words wouldn't come out of her mouth.

This was no a very surprising and brutal incident,as compared to those that happen nowadays, but it was a complete life-turning accident for Ishtar. She was just a baby! How could someone be so cruel?WIth a new silence in her heart and her voice, she returned home. After a few days, she gathered the courage to tell her parents about it,who were completely shocked and terrified by this incident, and swore to be forever overprotective of the child,to keep her within their reach always, and to save her forever in their arms.
This return, although a very melancholy one, marked Ishtar's new life. The incident made her strong and aware. She was filled with a new surge of power and the light of a huntress was clearly shone in her eyes. She did not let herself be dumbfounded forever, but instead, decided to make herself a warrior. She became so mature at a very tender age, seeing the world with her new revengeful and merciless eyes, but   she never did leave her true identity, her true self full with love and compassion for the good, and a new hatred for the bad.

This was the birth of power, the birth of a girl who was going to be the face of the world's dangerous and gallantry women. This was how an ERA OF WOMEN was unleashed.

BOOK REVIEW -THE HUNGER GAMES

Sorry dear readers, for I have not been able to present you with something good to read for a while, being stuck up because of bad health and loads of work. But now,as I'm back,I'm going to tell you something about the book HUNGER GAMES ,my opinion about it and it's contents.

So,what is the first thing that strikes your mind when you read the title "hunger games"?For me,it was probably what it really singnified,i.e a game to suppress your hunger. The book is revolving all around the basic topic of brutality faced by the people in the nation of Panem, and their oh-so-rising need for food to keep up with their lives. This nation "panem" has been divided into 13 districts,of which the 13th one no longer exists because of suppression of an uprising. In the other 12 districts, there can be seen immense sufferings and horrifying deaths.People are imprisoned inside the district quarters, and can no longer enter their second home, the forest. In all this grievous background comes KATNISS,a sturdy brave and strong girl of age 16 yrs from the district 12.She is the one violating the no-entry-into-forest law, along with her hunting partner GALE to fill their familys' stomachs.

They all(both the families of Gale and Katniss) are living adjustable,if not peaceful lives, when the announcement day for the boy and girl to be selected for the dreaded Hunger games comes. Now these games are straight paths for a painful death, and no one in the district 12 seems to be interested in being a part of this life-taking game, even though the reward is priceless(i.e food and luxury for the whole district for many many yrs.).And then, when Katniss gets chosen for the games, the whole district goes into a pitiful silence, and a forecasting of turned lives is done.So.Katniss and as luck can get any bad, PEETA MELLARK a boy from her past who helped her in an extremely ungrateful time, are sent to fight to death in a cruel battle. What is followed is there a great detailed account of their completely changed lives,From how their physical appearance changes(as a contribution of stylist),they acquire new friends and ofcourse, enemies to the necessary element of love in their lives(where Peeta confesses of his childhood love for Katniss, and that too love at first sight....aww ..cute!!!).All kinds of shades of the characters are shown in the games, where lovers become haters and strangers become your most trusted allies.

Also,we can read and learn all tactics required in a battle, from mind tricks to your physical potential(as if we're going to a battle tomorrow.),such as how to make food out of a tree bark and sea weeds. There is the element of surprise as well, not one but many times in the story, which boasts of stunning (at the same time fearful) mined battle grounds, fire shooting out of nowhere(well thats the work of the clever gamemakers),completely insane and scary wildlife(the tracker jackers and the muttants)as well as humans and the extremely overwhelming climax(when too lovers are indirectly told to kill each other,to win the game).

There are many other things as well, which include hosts of different kinds of characters, stunningly vibrant settings, emotional moments and the exxageration of the contributions of technology. But,as this place cannot hold too much and you might be getting bored of me blathering all about the book,I must recommend you to read the book yourself and tell me what you felt on reading it.What I have told you is like a pin in a haystack, and the haystack is waiting for you to find it's secrets yourself. So,reach out for the book and let it whisper it secrets to you.
And don't forget to tell me your opinions about my review and your experience on reading the "HUNGER GAMES".HAPPY READING!!!

PECULIAR WAYS OF ANGER MANAGEMENT

"ANGER IS NEVER WITHOUT A REASON,BUT SELDOM WITHOUT A GOOD ONE"
So why waste your precious time in sulking, when you can actually utilize it gaining some memorable moments.
Well, all of you must have face the situation when you desperately wanted to suppress your anger, and guess what?....you were unable to do it,for I have already went through such a situation a thousand times, and have tried everything, from counting my breath to shouting aloud, but to no use. So,after sitting for a few moments,I came up with this list of very unusual ways of letting out your anger, and that too without hurting anyone, which I have been doing till now.Let's take a look.

1.My favourite way of letting out anger is costume designing. When I feel like ripping someone's head apart,or when I'm feeling really low,I indulge myself in designing my future clothes, and spill my anger over  sheets of paper. And believe me,it's really very effective,as it is my best hobby. So,as the first way,I would suggest you to indulge yourself in your most peculiar hobby to get rid of your untimely anger. It might be drawing or screeching or even digging,if you want to 'just forget everything and start digging'.It might even work wonders for you,as you might become more skilled in your hobby.

2.You can develop a habit of stirring things around you.If you are a right hander, start stirring the mouse in your hand,or use the coffee mug or charger for this purpose.left handers to do the exact opposite. It will channelise your mind towards the 'stirring activity' and you will soon be away with your anger.

3.Do push-ups ,if you can and in the right way.If you are a typically skinny person, don't even dare to do push ups,for it will tire you and make you all the more angry. In such a case, try things like pulling and pushing your socks again and again.

4.Stand in front of the mirror ,and pass stupid remarks on yourself . Make faces, make stupid hairstyles and dress like a clown. It will be really engaging and funny, and who might know, that you get to discover a new talent in you, talent of a circus clown. :)

5.Take a bath.If not internally,it will definitely cool your externals,and calm your mind.After all,what's better than'washing' the dirt(your anger) away.

6. If you are a girl, then try on some funny make-up on your face, like double shaded lipsticks with orange eyes and black cheeks, and yes,a nice red nose. How wonderful ! Being a boy will not prove disappointing,as you can do all stuffs that make you look funny too.You could wear nice khaki pants(which are actually red in colour) with a crisp bright pink shirt and neon coloured heart shaped glasses. Also, wear a large ribbon on your head over a nice long haired wig,to make yourself look like mini  mouse.Add florescent green feathery slippers to your antique and iconic attire.

So,you see, even you can devise ways of shooing away your anger and making your day a nice and happy one.

Curious of why I chose this topic? Well,my dear friend and co-author Deepannita is a bit of short-tempered...just like me.So,I was very anxious to know some ways to control my anger and give her some ideas too,as the ordinary ways don't work for me.

TRY THESE IDEAS AND TELL ME IF THEY WORKED FOR YOU TOO. :)

BOOK REVIEW - TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE

A wonderful book written by Mitch Albom,"Tuesdays With Morrie" is about the relationship of the author with his favourite teacher, who turned out to be mine to,on reading the novel. Morrie Schwartz,a professor of sociology and a master in philosophy, suffers from the problem of Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, a deadly disease, which is sucking the life out of him,in a slow, suffocating way.
Mitch, who has completely deviated from what he regarded as his ideal life, and has become a famous sports columnist, instead of a pianist, which he intended to be.Completely oblivious of the dwindling health of his dear 'coach',Mitch is awakened by a show 'Nightline',featuring Morrie, and the intercourse of his health.Feeling guilty of his indecent absence since the past 16 years,Mitch goes to see his beloved professor to pay his last last respects to him.
Morrie dancing his graceful way

Seeing his lively, dance loving professor in shards,he is very much taken aback, and ,on persuasion from the professor's side, decides to come regularly to gain his last moments of friendship. What follows is his visits on Tuesdays,as an old tradition of the due to be 'Tuesday People',accompanied with thousands of questions relating to life and happiness.
Mitch and Morrie,the eternal friendship

Thus, the ex-student gets his last lessons in the wake of the constant drooping health of the professor, which he witnesses with bitter tears and immense gallantry.
Morrie with his family

So,this happens to be the summary of the novel.A very short one,but sufficient enough to give you an insight of the novel. Now ,about my personal experience. While reading this novel,I became familiar with an entirely different way of looking at life, and was gradually taken in by the happy spirits if the great teacher. His teachings so impressed me that his motto "LOVE EACH OTHER OR PERISH" became my motto.
Morrie's ashes resting in his grave

With a horrible disease to cope with,he actually cherished his slow and painful death,on the account of the time provided to share with loved ones. His idea of"ONCE YOU LEARN HOW TO DIE , YOU LEARN HOW TO LIVE",is something that we people do not pay attention to,although,we know the truth about it somewhere inside our hearts. He has made such revelations in this book, which happens to be a real life account, that you start wishing he were alive and teaching you at the moment.I certainly wished so,and continue to hope for a teacher as great as Morrie.

Now,after reading the book almost five times,I have an ardent desire of hearing Morrie's sweet voice,as Mitch was clever enough to use the then technology to tap his teacher's voice,to stay with him forever.

You get to be a child only once. That's also the same as getting all your dreams come true, because you only have one life to do it all. So why not start today, a bucket-list may not be such a bad idea when you look at all the years you've left behind you. And if we had a bucket-list, it would DEFINITELY involve these...

TO DO LIST :-

5.Edit a useless looking Wikipedia article, and make it sound even more incorrect and dumber than it already is.
6.Invent an app to fool people that let's them smell jasmines and roses, if they press their noses very close to their computer screens. Then sit back and enjoy their expressions.

12.Get in an elevator. Say "DING" at each floor and "MEOW" at occasional intervals.

17.Take a morning walk with my favourite dog Chihuahua, and play flash with him.....and  see that him winning.
18.Do cliff diving and wait in the sea for some Jacob to come and save me.And then watch myself sulking as Gulliver(that's Jack Black) comes to save you instead.
19.Do BEGUINE(a vigorous Caribbean dance) with a monkey on the nearby street and cry "YOWZA" (wow).
20.Pick a paint brush and thousands of different colours...and then, paint the your whole town like a rainbow.
21.Make a world record by shouting your heart out for one whole day.
22.Raid all the shops in the town, take down all the dresses, and wear and change them once every 15 minutes.

24.Stand in the middle of a highway and do somersaults.
25. Meet my dream man( actually boy) and see him for the last time before I die.

So...this is the bucket list of tasks for me to do before I die......or,for us to do before we die....as this list has been created by both me(that is Anjali) and Deepannita.Hope you get some ideas for your bucket list and fill it with surprising events.

I AM A SWIFTIE!!!!!!!

All fans of Taylor Swift, this is for you. A perfect playlist of all her epic songs, that will remain in your minds forever.

CRAZIER!!!!!......A perfect song if you have fallen in love and feel like going crazy with your partner, soar high in the air and do all mad things that you wish to with the one you love.

And the next one is this song, which is very much enlightening for the teenagers .
" 'Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you
You're gonna believe them
And when you're fifteen, don't forget to look before you fall
I've found time can heal most anything
And you just might find who you're supposed to be
I didn't know who I was supposed to be at fifteen."

'You're mine'...You might have said this sometime in your life when you really wanted someone and loved him so badly as to write a song about that.Well.......than this one is for you.

'It's a love story,baby just say yes!!!'.....So ....you're in love....and separated from your beloved.Awww....that's tragic

Red.....a very popular favourite among teens.....is quiet a colourful and clever name for a song, profitable to attract listeners. So here's reddddddddddddd.

Another iconical love song by TS...this one is very dreamy and touching. It will surely "enchant" you.

Who wants to ride a white horse?...Well,when this song was launched ,I spent a lot of time memorising it,and when I was done ,I sung it in front of a small batch of friends and won huge applauds and appreciations. So this song is kind of a cherishable memory for me.

Hey...a geeky Swift is in this one......geeky but flawless. And then there is the bad Swift too.Listen to this song with her different shades of characters(reel...not real)

Thats what we call a perfect mourning song for a heartbroken girl.Once said by Oscar Wilde in one of his books ,"LOVE IS GREATER THAN BOTH LIFE AND DEATH"...is what is signified and also, controverted in this song.Listen to it to know it.

"Forever and always"
Its what we hear from every lover, but it is not always the truth. Its not "Forever and Always"...but"Sometime" and "till I get tired".Listen to this one if you feel so.

So this is a playlist showing off Taylor's versatility  and also, her habit of singing love songs. But,in all,its a good entertainer and pass-time for you,and thats what really matters.

I am here and you are not alone...

The Winter of 1924...
A tiny dog, an orphan stood there, with it's white and hazelnut fur glistening in the powdery snow. It was a Japanese Akita - brand new, and lost in a strange snow-covered town. It looked up, it's eyes now gleaming with a plea - 'Just take me home...Please master!' And that was it. Prof. Ueno knew he simply 'had' to take the pup in. Little Hatchiko became the new soul mate of Prof. Ueno. The sleepy town of Shibuya came alive each morning when Hatchi followed his master to the railway station. He raised his paws to play with the Prof., sometimes snatching a parcel of food from his hands. He playfully bid him goodbye and returned sharp at 5 every evening - that's when master's train came back. And then they both walked back home in bliss, savouring each other's company.

1925
Hatchiko was no longer tiny, he was big and strong. But he loved his master with the same intensity, and a child's loyalty, as he had a year ago. So he waited, yet that day was different. Hatchi was sitting at the station as usual, waiting for the 5 o' clock train as usual. 5 o' clock, 6 o' clock and 7. Nighttime was here, where was his master? It turned out, Prof. Ueno died at the University and never made it to the train for Shibuya. He was gone, but Hatchi was here. And who would explain this to him...?

1935
Hatchi was11 now, quite old for a dog. It was cold, the same wintery pallor covered the town as the year he met his master. He was waiting, for over 9 years now. People took note from different parts of Japan, to come to him and give him food while he waited for his dead master to return. Shibuya Station was his home now. Master was in his memories. And he knew master would come back.... And when he did, Hatchi and master would walk back home together...

A few weeks later...
No amount of coaxing could make Hatchi touch his food. His end was near. His greying fur was a sign of his age. He was still waiting, but master did not come. Slowly his lids drooped and he shut his eyes. Forever. He reunited with his master in heaven...he thought back of 1924, as his soul drifted from his body. He left Shibuya forever...

Today
Shibuya is not the same anymore, not its people and not even its railway station. But Hatchi? Oh everyone knows about him... You see, there's a bronze statue built in his memory. It's an homage to the loyalty of the dog. And for he was no ordinary dog, he sometimes watches people cry beside his statue. And he laughs. He's with his master now, he feels no pain... Only bliss...

I strongly recommend that you watch Hatchiko A dog's story today...then tell me if you could ever compare human friendship to a dog's loyalty and companionship...I bet you won't be able to...

A thrilling encounter with mountain monkeys

The Jakhu Temple
It happened a back, when I had gone to Shimla during my summer vacations,to meet an acquaintance and to escape the scorching heat of the northwest. It was the last day of our visit and we all decided to go to the beautiful temple of lord Hanuman-"The Jakhu Temple".It was a pleasant sunny day, with fine breeze blowing in our hair. The way to Jakhu is a long, steep walk.Although vehicles can go through the steep hill, but as the temple was so close to our friend's dwelling,we chose to go on foot, for what is better than a refreshing walk in the peaceful hills.
As we stirred out of the house,we were warned of the naughty little apes in the temple by our concerned friend, but, were also assured of the harmless pranks of the monkeys. So,me and my family,i.e my dad,mom and my big bro, accompanied by the family of another of my dad's friend, set out for the upcoming adventure. We walked from the house to the foothill of the mountain on which the temple is situated, enjoying the chirruping of birds and the rustling of leaves on our way up.
way to  Jakhu temple
On reaching the base,my dad suggested of a little adventure,as the walk had become a little boring and undistinguished, and as we had a zing of getting into something unusual every time we went anywhere. So,he proposed of taking the hilly slopes as a route instead of the plain road that led to the temple. As we were all tired of the monotonous plainy roads,we readily agreed to the proposition. Some of us had  got all our energy exhausted, and so,we hired a car and separated into two groups, one that went by road ,and the other that set out for the hill.
We all were very excited to walk on the steep hill, and were clinging to the underlying rocks for the fear of falling down.My dad and his friend were on the lead, and we kids were strutting along behind them, panting and slipping occasionally.
Just then, the leaders were attacked by mountain monkeys and dogs, who were already on the lookout for some prey.Dad was the only one amongst us who was carrying a few stones for safety purpose, and without wasting any minute,he started pelting the wild animals with them. But  it proved more harmful as the animals  grew furious and tried to pounce upon us.It all made the surprisingly and exceptionally sandy hills, with dried trees look more gruesome .
And then,as we were watching the fight between the elders and the beasts with terrified eyes and gawking expressions,my dad and my uncle,as if driven with some external power, hit them so hard that they started runnig away, and soon, the hills were deserted again, except for our mocking intervention to the peaceful mountain. We all looked at each other for a moment, and then burst into laughter,on seeing our elders bewildered faces.
On reaching the temple,we narrated our little ,but horrifying encounter to the others, who showed mixed feelings of concern, joy and mockery. And when we went back, our adventure was overheard by some people, because of whom, the story featured in the next day's newspaper, which, unfortunately, couldn't be read as we had to leave early, back to he hotter hometown.

It was definitely one of my best travelling experiences, most of which have been observed in Shimla, and which I'll be narrating to you timely.

BOOK REVIEW - TWILIGHT

TURNING PAGE
Yesterday, when I was listening to this mesmerising, melodious song, and was trying my hand at the piano(inspired by dear charmimg Edward),the whole twilight series flashed in my mind in an instant. And as if encouraged to linger on the memory,I began to read the wonderful novel in my mind, imagining each and every scene and swaying away from the real world.A gem of a book,I must say.
Stephenie Meyer has done a wonderful job in portraying creatures as scary and ravenous as vampires angels.I mean, who could have ever thought of 'The Cold Ones' to be gentle and concerning,or even more, to be doctors and lovers.Imagine if your doctor turns out to be a bloodsucker, supposedly trying to suck someone's blood out.And then there is the love triangle,of three entirely different creatures, two of them completely horrandous and one , fragile little human damsel.
The story revolves around Bella,a seventeen year old clumsy girl, who falls in love with two completely hot guys,Jacob(the dark handsome werewolf)and Edward(the pale angelic vampire). This triangle itself suggests the author's immense power of projecting a non-existence world as lightly as if it was something that survives in the reality and surrounds us.I would be really glad to meet a charming prince like Edward , even it were a vampire, and a werewolf as valiant and sensual as Jacob.
After reading vampire diaries,I was very much convinced of the night wanderers to be completely scary and gholish creatures.Although there was some hint of love and friendship in the story,it mostly reflected upon the dark side of the vampire underworld. And then,on reading "Twilight",all my wrong assumptions were gone and at one time,I actually started believing in it,and wishing to enter into such a beautiful world, with its dark edges too,for no world can exist without it's negative half.
Twilight certainly makes one of my best read,as it touches upon many aspects of human lives, through an entirely different world from ours.It shows the strength of relationships, which, quiet unfortunately, have lost their solid foundations. It tells us of the power of love, which can win over and crack  the hardest of nuts.
It's simply an engaging fantasy novel, strong enough to keep you occupied or a long time and fill your dreams with utter magic and miracles.

THE LMFAO CONNECTION

Listening to LMFAOs Party Rock Anthem (a great workout song) a while back, I had no idea that the song was a part of something bigger. I mean, the hilarious uncle-nephew duo dancing like crazy on an obnoxious tune, in which they declare “Sorry for party rocking!” What the hell was it anyway? It turns out, a giant hit from a ‘hit movie’. I think people tend to forget the song’s connection to the movie 21 Jump Street (a screen adaptation of a 80s sitcom by the same name). I discovered that connection recently. So, I decided to watch the flick that I had long discarded as another stupid ‘guy’ comedy. But now, I have one word to say – “HILARIOUS”!
Starring Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill as two miserably ‘underachiever’ cops – the flick is a thundering laugh riot from the very beginning. I love Hill’s performance here. He is really good at the effortless, spur-of-the-moment kind of comedy. What is refreshing is to see Tatum match up to him. Due to their absolute failure at arresting anyone, and in general cop duty as well, they are transferred to the sleepy town of 21 Jump St. They go undercover as high school students to infiltrate a gang of suppliers, dealing in some new potentially dangerous drug called H.F.S., which has already caused a death of one student. What ensues is a trip down memory lane for the two best buddies. Tatum, who is effortlessly good looking, gets sidelined for his ‘cool-dude’ act (and the fact that the students constantly ask him why he looks so ‘old’!). While Hill who wasn’t popular in ‘his’ high school days, becomes one of the gang (despite his awkwardness). It’s a role reversal in this ‘unconventional school’, where the cool kids also dream of attending  good colleges. You see Tatum hanging after school (‘undercover’) with all the uncool chemistry lab geeks, in a completely unknown territory. That was weird and funny!

I don’t think I care for the critics who panned it for poor Hollywood High School drama. And I don’t think you should either. There are a lot of jokes that reflect ‘guy comedy’ flick. But it is still by far the best comedy of last year, even with all the cliques. Watch it for Hill and Tatum’s knockout chemistry and funny anecdotes.

AND THE MOUNTAINS ECHOED

“I found a sad little fairy
Beneath the shade of a paper tree
I know a sad little fairy
Who was blown away by the wind one night”

People are just people. They are instinctive, even incomprehensible. They get caught in a tangled web of relationships and regrettable decisions. And then they always look back and think – ‘surely, if this had not happened, that would not either, and maybe I wouldn’t be here’. At the end of the day, they are all but human. I think it’s a lesson in itself; a reminder of the consequences of all our actions, no matter how big or small. And I think that is what Khaled Hosseini wants us to really see through his new book, ‘And the Mountains echoed’.
Hosseini is a writer who has the exceptional courage to not see ‘his’ world, the way the rest of us do. So when he writes about Afghanistan in the book, there is no pity, only a subtle pride. His women are neither miserly cowards, nor stereotypically fearless. They are just human, women with a past and a heart full of secrets. Even in this book, his honesty and gripping storytelling powers have not diminished one bit. Only this time, he takes you across multiple locales and timelines. It seems like a giant puzzle when you’re in the middle. Central to the plot is the Afghan brother-sister duo, Pari and Abdullah. There is also the Afghan-French poetess Nila Wahdati, Afghan-American cousins Idris and Timur, then the Greek doctor, Markos Varvaris; and even a Jihadist in the story. The more people you come across, the more complex the web gets. And then, when you are ‘finally’ getting used to the randomness of the popping narratives, something magical happens. It all comes together! It’s like unraveling a secret piece-by-piece.

By the end, you have devoured the book and collected all the random pieces of the puzzle, to see the bigger picture. And guess what, because it was none other than Hosseini, you realize you were waiting for this magic to happen all along!
