This is the age of internet. Most of the students are now tech. savvy, spending hours surfing the net or interacting on social networking websites.This has led to the growth of information technology industry.
Social networking means making new contacts like friends and colleagues on the internet.It has become an important part of our lives.It is quite useful as it helps us to connect with our relatives and friends living abroad.Thus,it helps us in socialising with the world and share speedy information.This has also provided us with knowledge about different cultures and traditions existing around the globe.Nowadays , World Wide Web has become a huge market where people can buy and sell goods at fair prices.
However,social networking has led to many problems. For instance, students now stay glued to their computers and don't go out to play.There is less face-to-face interaction among people. Brainiacs with new ideas and malicious intents are committing cyber crimes. Some social networking sites require people to give their personal details,like account number.However,hackers hack some of these sites,and misuse the available information. There is less awareness regarding cyber crimes , and less number of cyber crime centres to solve problems.
There can be solutions to this problem.Awareness should be increased, regarding the pros and cons of social networking. De-addiction centres should be opened to help children overcome computer addiction. There should be a stress on more outdoor activities by school teachers. People should be careful while working on sites that ask for their personal details,and keep this information password protected. Government should introduce more cyber laws and give stringent punishment to the cyber outlaws. More cyber crime centres should be opened and adequately equipped.
